BLUE
He has had the miles put in and the time. We have taken our time with Blue.
He continues to impress us with everything we throw at him. He seriously handles new things like he has done it 1000 times before. Unlike most horses his age. He just does what is asked of him.
Blue is started at the ranch. We don't consider them actually finished in ranch work for quiet a while. Least 2/5 years. Every day is different at the ranch. He continues to amaze us with his willingness to get the job done.
He has worked cattle in the pasture. He has been used in the small pen/feedlot work.
He is cowy and naturally loves to work.
He has been roped off of but Very MINIMAL. He is NOT finished in roping quite yet. He went to his first two branding this year. Gathering with more horses then He had ever been around previously. Never missed a beat. Roped his first time in the branding pen or around that kind of scene ever in his life. Handled it like a PRO. Walked in, roped the calf, leaned into it like he has done it a million times before. Actually had calves with little more fight at the end of the rope. Walked RIGHT BY the FIRE with only a FLICK of the ear. Mind you NEVER been exposed to ANY of this before. Lots of people running around and he never missed a beat. Again this was his first TIME EVER. He seriously is the kind of horse makes your jaw drop with his personality and how he handles things.
He has been hauled to see the sights- ropings, arena, cattle work, rodeos, play days, and branding.
He is the kind of horse that can sit all winter and still be the same horse.
He does have some pep to his step and he is young! SO no I wouldn't consider him to be kid broke or totally beginner friendly.
Mind you a young lady rode him bareback who had never rode him before, he wouldn't step into a lope for her when asked Because she couldn't keep her seat. He took care of this young lady. EVEN though he didn't know her. Or had any experience prior to that day with her.
He wants to Please. He enjoys Anything that has to do with people. He loves his attention. He is total dog on the ground. If your outside and he can see you he is coming to visit. The more attention you give him the happier he is.
***SO if you want JUST a working horse... blue is NOT for you.****
He is the FIRST to meet you every single time in the pasture, no matter the size of the pasture. He also does not care if the other horses leave. He usually comes to see you. He has to know what you are doing.
So he is Extremely easy to catch! Usually he is walking towards you as the other horses walk away.
He has been rode bareback with only a Neck rope on numerous occasions!
Has been rode bareback numerous times. One of which our rider may have slipped forward onto his neck going down hill. Instead of doing what MOST horses would do and drop their neck and let you slide right off or give you littte boot. He put his head UP so his rider didn't slip any further down. We had a good laugh about it earlier but I know a LOT of horses who at 5 years old would not have picked their head up to keep you on.
We have some pretty rough country. He handles it like a champ.
We have deer and antelope on the place so he isn't going to bulk at those. You would be amazed and how many horses do!
Along with rabbits, jack rabbits and even rattlesnakes.
Video of him riding in nothing but a neck rope available.
I have jumped on him bareback in the pasture with nothing on him. With nothing to worry about. Just hang out on his back.
We ride with 3 to 7 dogs. Riley his is best friend. This horse lets her SWING on his tail. This is how CHILL he truly is. She runs jumps and SWINGS off his tail. He allows this young pup to do so.
He has been around equipment. Including Razors, four wheelers, skid steers and tractors.
ZERO SPOOK. Video shows his response to new things! He just needs a couple seconds if even that to think it over.
HOWEVER, when riding you ask for speed and he has it. He can down right move for his size.
His first time in an indoor arena. Loud noises, kids, speakers, horses everywhere, chutes, barrels, poles. Did Amazing!! He didn't bulk at anything. He is a big dog! (IN A GOOD WAY!) He however will get in your bubble IF IF IF You allow it. If you don't he Won't!
His first time to a new outdoor arena. No other horses brought along. Unload him, tack him up, and enter the arena. Mind you there are people hauling jumps and mowing right NEXT to us. He has never seen this arena before. We do a walk around. He kinda checks out the surroundings - new bright colored jumps and banners. He does his thing. Handles it like a champ. No talking or even looking for other horses. Honestly acted like we had unloaded there a 1000 times before but he'd never seen that place before.
He has been used for cattle feed lot work and pasture (1000+ acres) riding, sorting cattle out in the pasture. Working cattle in the pasture.
Stand tied all day long.
Picks up all four like a champ.
He loads and unloads with Zero hesitation. He trailers well. We have a flipped axle trailer. They can not just step in. They have too "Step" in.
I truly doubt he would fit in a two horse trailer.
Been hauled for 8+ hours like a champ.
He is a BLAST to ride. I don't know how else to explain him. He speaks for himself.
If you ride him your not going to leave without him.
He has no holes.
SOLID Solid foundation and Finished.
Take him and do whatever you want to finish him in.
He is broke and ready to start the job you want him too.
Blue has roped. He drug calves at his First branding today. Handled it like he handles Everything. Like he's done it 1000 times before but he hasn't. Even walked by the fire with nothing but a flick of his ear. People every where and calves with little fight. First time with all of that and he handles it like a champ.
I am not selling him as a finished rope horse. Simply saying he has had experience with roping.
His VERY first calf roped in the pasture, he stood like a champ. No bulk, not stressed.
Just was interested in the rope and what was going on with it.
If you give Blue a couple seconds if even that to think about things he will tackle it like a champ.
He has drug poles, barrels, railroad ties and calves.
Has a super amazing lope like you are floating. Nice smooth trot.
He really collecting in his strides. Really collecting at a stop.
He is neck reining.
He has zero flaws that I have been able to find.
He side passes.
Is improving with roll backs. Really working on lead changes.
No buck bite or kick.
He has ZERO BUCK, BITE, KICK or Rear. He has ZERO vices that I have been able to find.
This is the horse you can jump on in the middle of the pasture and just hang out.
He has been rode on and off this winter. Time off doesn't affect him. He rides off the same.
He is YOUNG. His age pops up every once in awhile. He is STILL a horse! :) By this I mean sometimes he is unaware of how Big he is when riding next to horses. He forget he needs to leave little more room for them if that makes sense. No he doesn't run them over just might get little more in their space. Remember he is 16 hands at 5 years old and still learning his size.
Has not needed shoes or currently ever had them. He has solid black hooves. Not going to put shoes on when he doesn't require them and we aren't using him for competition.
Pastured with both mares and geldings. He isn't top of the pecking order but he is NOT on the bottom. He is not nasty but he will not let others pick on him.
Rides alone for in a group (Without his nose up someone else's butt)
He will ride away from the group of horses with NO fight.
He is use to riding off alone. Riding alone. Doesn't bother him.
Stands for saddling, mounting and dismounting.
Even with time off.
I want him to go to an amazing home. I will be picky. Again He is For sale NOT on sale.
If he doesn't sell I WILL NOT complain.
In all honesty I know longer want to sell Blue. He has a price tag as most horses due when you ranch. But I don't have to sell him any longer.
SOLD
WILL NOT HOLD Unless a deposit is sent! Not maybe sent. SENT.
Price is subject to change with more training.
I don't have to sell and Blue had continued to impress me. He will not go to just anyone.
